How do we do it:
Climate Surveys
Climate is an important influence on employee engagement. Most clients measure both climate and culture in one survey. However a climate survey can be done on its own. Climate looks at the factors influencing employee engagement from a different perspective – that of the employee. The difference between culture and climate can be described in this way: culture is what and how things happen; climate is the effect it has on how employees feel.
If a culture survey is a top down process to assess how well the culture is aligned to and supportive of the needs of the business, a climate survey is bottom up. It seeks to measure the impact the organisation and its ways have on employees. It will seek to understand how they feel about factors such as:
- The goals and objectives they are set
- The processes they work with
- How they are managed and led
- How conflict is resolved
We are often asked to do Team Climate Surveys sometimes as part of a team development programme as well as organisation wide surveys.
