Do you know how engaged your employees are compared to others working in your sector? Are you concerned about losing your talent? Are you getting the best from your people? How is the current climate affecting employee morale and engagement in your sector?
Following on from publication of the Government commissioned MacLeod Report, Edgecumbe Research, the specialist research team within the Edgecumbe Consulting Group, is introducing in 2011 a series of Sector Surveys of employee engagement starting in the Spring with the Financial Services Sector. This new survey approach will provide participating employers with a unique, contemporaneous insight into the state of employee engagement not just in their own company but also in their sector.
We have developed a generic employee engagement questionnaire with 40 questions in 8 sections, each of 5 questions. The questions are drawn from our model of employee engagement, which is derived from a wealth of research into the drivers of employee engagement. The sections are culture and values, your job characteristics, working conditions, leadership and management, communication, training and development, teamwork and an overall engagement section.
No, this is a set questionnaire. If you would like a bespoke survey we can of course help you with that.
The standard cost is £895+VAT. For this you will take part in an online survey with a random sample of 500 employees. If you have fewer than 500 employees, all employees can take part.
However the first 40 companies registering and paying the fee in full will be able to register for a special price of £395 plus VAT. Furthermore this saving of £500 will be applied to our second survey in 12 months time when we will be comparing this years’ results with next – this is sure to be very interesting.
By using a standard questionnaire and standard reporting the costs of running the process are kept low and passed onto the client.
Yes this is possible, but there will be an additional cost.
First you send us an excel spreadsheet (which we will provide a template for) with email addresses (and demographic information of all your employees if possible). If you have over 500 employees we will then apply a random sampling procedure and cut the participant numbers to 500.
Once the participants have been selected they will be sent a unique web link to a safe and secure website where they can complete the survey. The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete.
We will send each participating employee one reminder half way through the survey if they have not completed it by then. We will provide you with one detailed response rate report half way through the survey before we send the reminder so you can target departments with lower response rates.
You will receive your report within three weeks of the survey close date. The report will show your company’s results for each question and will compare them with the benchmark of all of the organisations in the sector surveyed.
This will be a completely contemporaneous benchmark which will give you the most up to date information about where you stand now in relation to other organisations in your sector. It will also show you, for each section of the questionnaire, where you rank in terms of all of the organisations surveyed.
The report will be dynamic so that you can also manipulate it to show the results for each demographic or combinations of demographics compared to the company’s overall score and the benchmark. For instance a client may want to see the results for all employees in the IT department who have worked there for 1-2 years – if there were more than 8 respondents who fit these demographic categories then the report will show these results.
No. One of the features of the Edgecumbe Sector Survey is that all companies take part at the same time. The survey will, however stay open for a three week period allowing your employees plenty of opportunity to take part.
